Meribel is a French Ski Resort, famous with British Seasonnaires.
Linking with the 3 Valleys and at an elevation of 1400 Meters it has world class skiing, brilliant snow and wild nightlife. It’s a favorite for our JW Seasonnaires...

A bit about Katy and Kath
(Katy left, Kath right)
Having spent a while living it up in London post University the time has come to head to the mountains and do a season..... After spending 2 years in a faced paced Marketing Consultancy we need to get out of the corporate world and could not be more ready to get down to some hard work and hard partying on the slopes.
What are you doing for work on your season?
We are managing two small private chalets in the very centre of Meribel. (A stones throw away from Dicks…) Our days will be spent on the slopes followed by a little baking and cooking with wine, sometimes we might add it to the food. We like to think of the season as one big long dinner party with some amazing sunny powder days thrown in.
Is this your 1st season or are you a returning Seasonnaire?
This is the 1st season for both of us and we can’t wait for powder days and panda eyes.
Skier/boarder
Kath Skis, I’m a boarder
Favourite Resort
Kath – Val D’Isere
Katy – St Anton for the Après/ Heavenly for the powder.
Role model- favourite rider
Kath - GB ski team. Success from a country with little snow is always to be admired.
Katy – Ingrid Backstrom, amazing and keeps up with/ out competes the boys….
What you are looking forward to the most this season
Meeting great people and waking up to powder.
One goal you have set yourself to achieve for 08/09 season?
To go heli skiing by the end of the season.
Any advice out there for people contemplating a ski season
Do it. Definitely work in a private chalet for more autonomy and more time on the mountain/ in the bars.

A bit about Jaun
I'm a recent gradaute of UCL in central London where I studied for 4 years with a year out in Madrid. I’m an avid follower of all sport but in particular, rugby, tennis, football and skiing. Also any excuse to be out with mates on a night out will not be missed.
What are you doing for work on your season?
I've been fortunate enough to land the ski guiding job for flexi ski, so with a bit of luck I'll find my self on the slopes almost every day soaking up some rays and hunting down some virgin slopes with those I take out.
Is this your 1st season or are you a returning Seasonnaire?
1st season
Skier/boarder
100% Skiier
Favourite Resort
Anywhere in the 3 valleys
Role model- favourite rider
A role model for me growing up has always been Eric Cantona in his very laid back, yet acute awareness of everything that was going on around him on the football field. The ultimate cool bloke and the closest thing to a football genius. As for skiiers I admire, it's got to be Francisco Fernandez Ochoa, Spain’s only every olympic champion on the white stuff.
What you are looking forward to the most this season
For as long as I can remember I've wanted to do a ski season and now the opportunity has finally presented itself I'm dreaming of taking down some hair raising fresh powder runs and if I can befriend some local heli skiiers then a bit of that wouldn’t go a miss!
One goal you have set yourself to achieve for 08/09 season?
Get back in one piece and enjoy everyday of skiing, because I know for a fact having a job on the slopes everyday is surely going to be a privilege, and something that will be hard matched in any career I eventually undertake.
Any advice out there for people contemplating a ski season
Yes, get involved, skiing/boarding everyday in some of the most beautiful backdrops in the world, crusing through powder, followed by some Après-Ski a la jaeger bomb. Unbeatable.

What you are looking forward to the most this season
I am most looking forward to improving my skiing and having an awesome time!

The goal I have set myself is to Heli Ski.
Any advice out there for people contemplating a ski season
The only advice I can give people who want to do a season is to get involved!! I applied really late!! Stayed up one night and applied for pretty much every job going in the Alps and was successful, there is no reason why you won’t be! You’ll get to meet loads of people and have a fantastic experience!
