This is the team that will be on the JW Seasonnaire Tour and are charged with bringing you all the gossip and footage. It’s a dream combination of the Snowfix crew
and some old JW friends.

Charlie

JW Team

A bit about myself
Charlie helped start up Snowfix in 2005 representing the snowboarding side of mountain life and is now heading into his fifth full season. He loves riding but being so injury prone has had to spend a lot of time back in the chalet working on his Guitar Hero skills... and the all-important Mutzig training of course.

Role on tour
Official Rock and Metal Representative, Snowboard Tech Aficionado and Resident Sleeper.

Skier/boarder
Snowboarder

Favourite Resort
Morzine/Avoriaz, France, but if I had to do a season in a new resort I'd say Mayrhofen, Austria.

Role model- favourite rider
Travis Rice - he seems to be able to stick anything with great style.

What you are looking forward to the most this season
I'd probably have to say the heli-drops in the US & Canada - I've never been in a helicopter before, and that's probably the only riding I'll get to do during the season before knee surgery, so it's going to have to count.

One goal you have set yourself to achieve for 08/09 season?
Riding wise I'm going to have to set my targets on recovering for my operation so that I'm all sorted for next year - forcing myself to do all the physio exercises I need to do and trying to not re-injure it before next year. But overall it's going to be focusing on making this the best season of Snowfix ever. And we're off to a great start for that with the North American and Euro tours.

Any advice out there for people contemplating a ski season
If you're seriously contemplating it then that's all the motivation you should need to go out and do it. Even though you'll likely have to work long hours it'll definitely pay off - I haven't met one person that regrets doing it; on the other hand.

Jools

JW Team

A bit about myself
"When I'm not broking stocks and wearing heels in the City of London or surfing Sri Lanka and drowning in Bali, I'm waist-deep in the Chamonix backcountry hunting for pow or nailing myself in some park somewhere. It all started back in the days when daddy used to take me skiing in the Pyrenees with a pacifier in my mouth, though I quickly realised that sideways was the way forward and commited the unthinkable in the eyes of my father almighty: I switched to snowboarding. Hooked from day one, I rode the likes of Saas-Fe, Engelberg, Davos, Klosters, Flims and many more in Switzerland where I spent most of my life and went from being the girl who used to watch the boys to the girl whom the boys now watch. On the small screen, that is."

Role on tour
token chick?

Skier/boarder
I'm a one plank kinda girl

Favourite Resort
Chamonix for the backcountry, Hoch-Ybrig for the jib, Les Mosses for the childhood memories

Role model- favourite rider
UK's Tyler Chorlton for his style, Mads Johnson for the size of his tricks, MFM for his steeeeeeeeze, Jenny Jones for how humble she is.

What you are looking forward to the most this season
eating raclette without feeling guilty

One goal you have set yourself to achieve for 08/09 season?
tomp my sf180's off small cliffs

Any advice out there for people contemplating a ski season
  • save enough money for accommodation, don't worry too much about a job if you don't find one before you leave, there's always something out there
  • whenever possible, buy your season pass online as early as possible, it's cheaper a lot of the time
  • make friends with chalet girls, they always have yummy left-over food
  • make sure you read the small print in your insurance policy before you sign it. I got screwed a couple of times.

Tim

JW Team

A bit about myself
Tim is one of the founder snow-geeks that started Snowfix. He has 5 seasons under his belt and as well as representing the skier aspect of the show, he is the go-to man for useless facts and all the lastest goings on in the mountains. Basically a bit of a gossip!

Role on tour
High-five supplier. Drinks monitor (I have an official badge). Chief Prank Coordinator.

Skier/boarder
SKIER!

Favourite Resort
Can I have two? Val d'Isere & Morzine. If I had to choose I would say Val.....no, no wait I mean Morzine!

Role model- favourite rider (Tim you can say ‘The Hoff’ if you want)
My favourite rider is probably, 24 cans cider, a bottle of black sambucca, 2 fruit/nut flapjacks and a kinder egg. (I didn't realize we were getting one on this trip)

Role model
For role model I would probably say Colby James West, cos he is hilarious, laid-back but still rips! However aren't role models meant to be older than you? If so I would say any of the Lockdown Projects guys (Tim Warwood, Adam Gendle, Johno Verity) cos their films kind of inspired me to get involved in the industry!

What you are looking forward to the most this season
I'm not sure if we are meant to keep this as a surprise so shhhhhh don't tell anyone but going heli-skiing in Canada! shhhhhhh

One goal you have set yourself to achieve for 08/09 season
inverts in the pipe, no injuries (touch wood) and to make this season the best Snowfix EVER!

Any advice out there for people contemplating a ski season
I haven't met anyone who hasn't said it is the best thing they have ever done! However be prepared to be sitting there contemplating it again in 1 years time. Deciding to do a season is the easy part (it's YES!) being able to stop is the difficult bit!
